Michael Gerriod Brignac

The Lord saw fit to call Michael Gerriod Brignac, Jr. 33, of Los Angeles, Ca home on April 1, 2024, ending his brave and graceful 15-month battle with renal medullary carcinoma, (RMC).

Some leave their legacy behind through wealth, business empires, charitable work, or their children. However, Michael’s legacy was different. He left behind a smile that could brighten the darkest rooms, a non-judgmental character, a captivating charm, conversations that made you feel truly understood, and jokes that would keep you laughing for days. Michael’s legacy was natural; he didn’t have to seek it out, buy it, or strive to create it. He had a unique talent for crafting magical worlds where only the two of you existed, spanning from the realms of fashion to space and back again.

In 2012, Michael graduated with an Associates Degree in Graphic Design from Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. He was always an individual and completely ahead of his time. As he evolved so did his style and he became more interested in expression through fashion. Michael made a career shift after being laid off from his graphic design job during the COVID pandemic. He focused all his time and energy on learning the “art” of day trading. He thoroughly enjoyed his time trading. So much so that even on his cancer journey, he would muster energy early in the morning or late at night to look at the charts and take a trade if his candlesticks aligned.

Michael is survived by his adoring parents, Michael and Deborah, his protective older sisters, Twonshae and Adaiah, his beloved nieces, Skyy and London, his grandmothers, Rosetta Smith and Lee Brignac, his loving partner, Elle Dyner, a host of aunts, cousins and a loving and supportive tribe of friends that he loved dearly.

His family looks forward to the day when they will reunite with Michael in heaven. Until then they will keep his memory alive.
