Kyle Cameron Young passed away on March 15, 2025 at the age of 36, surrounded by the love of his family, after a courageous battle with a rare kidney cancer known as Renal Cell Carcinoma, Unclassified with Medullary Phenotype (RCCU-MP). This cancer is an aggressive kidney cancer subtype, similar to Renal Medullary Carcinoma (RMC) but occurring in patients without sickle cell trait or disease. Kyle fought with unwavering strength and grace until the very end, embodying the true spirit of a warrior.
Kyle is survived by his beautiful wife, Laura, and their precious daughter, Charlie, who brought him the greatest joy of his life. He is also survived by his parents, Jeff and Karen; sisters Kristin (Nick) and Ashley (Nick); father-in-law Charlie Hart; brother-in-law Chase Hart (Lauren); and many cherished nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Beth Hart.
A respected commercial real estate broker, Kyle spent the last decade as Leasing Director for Basin Street Properties’ Northern California portfolio. He was known not only for his professionalism and work ethic, but for the genuine relationships and friendships he built throughout his career.
Kyle lived life fully. He believed deeply in balance—working hard and embracing adventure even harder. He loved travel, especially trips to Hawaii, Mexico, and Australia, and found joy in Colorado hunting trips, Oregon fishing excursions, and time spent at Lake Tahoe and Lake Pillsbury. A gifted athlete, Kyle excelled in many sports and proudly played linebacker for the University of Oregon. He was also an avid golfer, endurance athlete, and loyal fan of the San Francisco Giants, 49ers, and Warriors.
Those who knew Kyle will forever remember his contagious laugh, radiant smile, and ability to connect with anyone he met. Friends often say, “Live Like Kyle,” a phrase that perfectly captures his zest for life, love for people, and joyful spirit.
Kyle was the ultimate son, brother, husband, father, and friend. His wife Laura stood as his constant rock throughout his journey, tirelessly advocating and searching for answers. His daughter Charlie remains a shining light and guiding star.
Diagnosed in December 2023, Kyle fought valiantly, but the disease was a battle he could not overcome. He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and inspiration. Though his life was far too short, the impact he made will endure forever.
