Highlights of the 13th Annual Keepin’ It Renal Run/Walk (Launching Hope for RMC Awareness
- April 15, 2026

The 13th Annual Keepin’ It Renal Run/Walk was a powerful and inspiring success, bringing together communities across the globe under this year’s theme: “Launching Hope for RMC Awareness.”
In Sugar Land, Texas, our in-person and virtual event welcomed approximately 359 participants and raised an incredible $57,245. This team was formed in loving memory of Chris “CJ” Johnson, who lost his battle to RMC in 2012. Together, we honored not only CJ, but also the many lives lost to this disease, while uplifting the warriors who continue to fight with courage and strength.
Our Pasadena, California team gathered approximately 102 participants and raised $5,280. This team was organized in memory of Dr. Ana Maldonado, who passed away from RMC in 2023. The Pasadena walk also welcomed Xavier Sequeira, who was accompanied by his incredible support squad, as well as Deborah Brignac and her family, who walked in loving memory of her son, Justin. Their presence was a powerful reminder of both resilience and remembrance.
In Santa Rosa, approximately 115 participants came together and raised $6,370 in memory of Kyle Young, who lost his battle to RMC in 2025. Their efforts stand as a testament to love, resilience, and community.
For the fourth year, Team Greece joined us in solidarity, walking in Crete and Volos. This walk was formed in memory of Feninna-Aiketerini, who lost her battle to RMC in 2022. Their continued growth reflects the global reach of this mission. Seeing this event expand internationally is a powerful reminder that hope knows no boundaries.
This year, we were especially moved by the many families impacted by RMC who traveled to Sugar Land to honor their loved ones and stand alongside current warriors. Their presence brought an even deeper sense of purpose and unity to this event.
We are profoundly grateful to our sponsors, donors, volunteers, vendors, and participants. Your unwavering support makes this mission possible. Because of you, we continue to raise awareness, fund research, and, most importantly, launch hope for those affected by RMC.
We look forward to seeing you next year as we continue to grow, honor, and fight—together. Join us for the 14th Annual Keepin’ It Renal Run/Walk in March 2027! Date to be announced.
